Hello and Assalammualaikum everyone . Today we are going to share some types of phobia among people of all ages .
1. Akrophobia - Fear of heights
An estimated 3-5% of the world population suffers akrophobia, fear of being in high places. In the research that been done, the patient akrophobia feel all high places is higher than actual. For example, in fact only 3 feet high, then in the eyes of patients akrophobia, they like to see an object whose height is 6 feet.
2. Nyctophobia - Fear of darkness
Fear of darkness suffered by children it is also the most common phobias. Normally, this fear will disappear with age. But until adulthood if we still suffer from a fear of the dark, then it means we suffer nyctophobia.
3. Fear of lightning and thunder
Known as the "Astraphobia / Astrapophobia". For people with this phobia, the sound of thunder and lightning will feel like a heart stomping, and even make them sweat. 7. Heliophobia - Fear of sunlight
It sounds like the plot of a vampire novel -- an otherwise healthy, well-adjusted person begins to live a life shrouded in darkness. She works nights and sleeps all day behind blackout curtains. If she must leave the house during the day, she slathers on a thick layer of sunscreen and hides behind dark glasses. Yet for those with heliophobia, or fear of sunlight, this may be reality.
8. Bathophobia - Fear of depth
An abnormal and persistent fear of depths. Sufferers from bathophobia experience anxiety even though they realize they are safe from falling into or being consumed by depths. The feared object may be a long, dark hallway, a well or a deep pool or lake.
9. Chiraptopphobia - Fear being touched
Some people do not like to be touched. At its most extreme, this aversion to human contact can turn into a phobia. The Latin name for the fear of being touched is Chiraptophobia.This fear can leave its sufferers feeling alone and isolated. Normal human intimacy is a big part of romantic relationships. Even friends and family will expect hugs, pats on the back, and other displays of affection.
10. Clinophobia - Fear of sleep
An abnormal and persistent fear of going to bed. Sufferers from clinophobia experience anxiety even though they realize that going to bed normally should not threaten their well-being. However, because they worry about having nightmares or wetting the bed, they often remain awake and develop insomnia. Insomnia then can become a real threat to their well-being.
